The Fairy Tale Bride by Scarlet Wilson

Book Blurb:

Wedding fever has hit the little town of Marietta…

Lisa Renee loves weddings. As owner of Marietta’s bridal salon, Lisa takes charge when a celebrity wedding rolls into town and does what she does best: hosting the fairy tale wedding her clients dream of. But the celebrity’s badly behaving bridesmaids shatter Lisa’s poise, excitement, and hopes of putting Marietta and her boutique on the map. The only place she can find peace is on the pediatric ward of the local hospital where she volunteers, a place that holds more meaning to her than anyone knows. Leave it to the handsome and charming new doctor to change all of that…

Dr. Adam Brady is enjoying his new job and anonymity at Marietta’s hospital, but he hasn’t been able to focus entirely since the gorgeous business owner and hard-working volunteer piqued his interest. As he spends more time with her, sparks fly, and he realizes that he’s not the only one in Marietta with secrets…

My Review:

Lisa and Adam both have secrets and have been hurt by them.  They closely guard their hearts.  Lisa makes everyone else's fairy tales come true, but she was hurt badly by the two people she trusted and has given up on having her own fairy tale ending.  Adam has seen what money can do to people, and is happy to live quietly in Marietta.  He wants people to like him for who he is as a person.

He is overwhelmingly drawn to Lisa when he sees her on the children's ward of the hospital.  In a small town like Marietta they can't help but run into each other again.  The attraction is definitely there for both of them, and they spend time together.  I liked that they both wanted to spend time together, so they did.  No games or angst about it.  They are both cautious, and he is a bit paranoid, but their is a palpable connection between Lisa and Adam.  I liked how they got to know one another, but I didn't like all the secrets!  Both of them have trust issues, and slowly gain each others trust.  Or so Lisa thought...

I really liked Lisa.  She has a huge heart and helps others.  The past holds her back a bit, but she seemed to be moving on well, with the potential for more growth.  I hope to see her in another book!  Adam too has a big heart and I liked most things about him.  Lisa and Adam are two people who both help others in different but just as important ways.  There is a little drama, but nothing overwhelming...this is about Adam and Lisa moving forward.  It was fun watching the relationship evolve, and even though it was quick, I do think it is believable.  Quick happens!

I loved being back in small town Marietta, and seeing a few characters from previous books set in Marietta.  However, The Fairy Tale Bride is a stand alone novella.

The Fairy Tale Bride is well paced, and I felt the length of the novella was perfect for the story being told.

I'd recommend The Fairy Tale Bride to any romance reader looking for a quick, light hearted read!
