Review: Love Will Always Find You by Claire Matthews

Book Blurb:

She’s definitely his person of interest—but is he barking up the wrong tree?

When aspiring writer and dog trainer Evie Malone gets a call from a man seeking help with the dog he inherited, she’s eager to help—in no small way because his surly voice on the phone gives her good shivers.

Meeting Luke Kovacs confirms her attraction to the no-nonsense, socially challenged cop, but she’s got some unfinished business to take care of first. Business named Brad, an ex-to-be she’s been trying to let down gently.

Luke’s not really a dog person, but he’s willing to make an effort to settle in with his late aunt’s mutt. Especially with the help of a woman who makes him wish he had someone waiting for him at home.

When Evie goes to Brad’s place to break up, she’s shocked to find him dead on the floor. Worse, every time she turns around, she finds more and more evidence…and it’s clearly stacked against her. Though Luke believes her innocent, they soon find themselves in a race against time to prove it—before the real killer finds a way to silence her.

Warning: Contains a sexy Texas cop, a heroine who’d risk her life for an enchilada plate, and a string of adorable dogs. Oh, and Sea-Monkeys.

My Review:

Love Will Always Find You is a fun, entertaining read.  It was really great to lose myself in this romance!

I really liked Evie.  I liked how she said what was on her mind, she didn't hold back!  I liked that she was doing what she loved and was happy.  When Evie finds herself in a bizarre circumstance following the death of her soon to be ex fiancee, and help comes in the form of policeman Luke. The same Luke who has hired her to help him with his newly acquired dog.  The same Luke who Evie is very attracted to.  The attraction goes both ways, and through Love Will Always Find You their relationship develops at the same time as Luke tries to find a killer.  I really enjoyed the journey with these two - the feelings, the circumstances, the animals, and the mystery all worked well together to round out a very good book.

I really enjoyed the secondary characters too.  Each brought another dimension to the plot.

The plot is interesting and Claire kept me engrossed in Evie and Luke's story.  Luke draws a blurry line between personal and professional, but the way this was done really worked well in Love Will Always Find You.  The mystery of a killer on the loose and Evie's involvement spiced things up and Claire wrote enough twists into the plot to really keep me guessing.

With laughter and love interwoven well with some serious stuff, Love Will Always Find You is a book I'd recommend to any romance reader who likes a bit of mystery in the mix!
